About Ella
I grew up in the town of Boyle, Co. Roscommon, in the West of Ireland. That’s where I went to school and where my passion for music began. I started piano lessons at the age of 7. Due to the inspiration of my fantastic piano and music teachers my interest and love of music continued to grow. I soon joined the Roscommon Youth Orchestra where I learned to play the clarinet. I continued my musical journey by completing a 4-year B.A. Music degree in Trinity College Dublin. Since then I have been teaching piano both privately and with the Glasnevin Academy of Music.
During my years of studying and teaching music, I discovered the benefits of Music Therapy through volunteering in Tallaght University Hospital and abroad in America. Seeing how music can help people inspired me to pursue a career in Music Therapy. I graduated in 2021 with a first class honours degree from the two-year Music Therapy Master’s programme in the University of Limerick.
I have continued teaching piano throughout my academic studies. I have a passion for sharing my love of the piano, and want to continue teaching alongside my music therapy career.
